Everyone wants great skin, and with the summer heat carrying on into the fall, now is the time to take these easy steps to achieving healthy skin that you’ll want to show off. The following steps should be done to achieve this goal:

MAKE-UP REMOVAL: Complete makeup removal is very important to the overall hygiene and appearance of our skin. Leftover makeup, dirt and grime from the previous day stays on the skin and not only blocks pores, but may lead to acne forming bacteria. Use a proper makeup remover and cleanse the entire face every night before you head to bed.

CLEANSING: After we get our makeup removed, it’s time to gently cleanse the skin with a cleanser according to your skin type (dry, combo, oily) that will get rid of all that dead skin build up on your face. This is important, as you’re keeping your pores free and not clogged up.

TONING: Tone your skin, freshen up those pores and remove all that dead skin you lifted when you cleansed. Remember to do this step, or else all that dead skin is going to sit on your face all night long. Make sure your using the right formula for your skin type - you may find that different people can use stronger toners than others. Everyone’s skin has a different tolerance level on how much it can take. The best way to find the right one for your skin is to base it on how your skin reacts to sun exposure. If you burn right away, use a mild toner; if you get red but then tan, use a medium strength toner; and if you tan right away, you can use a stronger formulated toner. However, if you see that you cannot tolerate anything too strong, use what feels best on you. Toner should lightly tingle the skin but not burn.

MOISTURIZE: Last but not least, moisturize. Just because it’s not winter yet and we all might not feel dry doesn’t mean that our skin isn’t thirsty. Like our bodies, our skin needs replenishing. If you start to see dry patches on your face, it means that your skin is already in need of moisture. You should moisturize twice a day, everyday, after you complete your skin care regime.

Following these easy steps will help you on your way to getting that healthy looking skin that we all want. It will overall improve the appearance, texture and feel of your skin. You’ll notice that your makeup will go on a lot easier and you won’t even need to use as much, therefore creating a much more natural look - and don’t we all deserve to be natural beauties?
