Earlier this year, we at Campus Life Magazine named the Toyota Yaris our Fave Student Vehicle of 2008 – and during recent frosh week festivities at universities across Canada, the Yaris not only lived up to the title, but completely rocked each campus!

The Yaris crew traveled to schools all over the country, from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia to Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Colombia. On each campus, Yaris reps offered students free local shuttle rides in a Yaris hatchback, and loaded them up with free CDs and concert tickets as a special “back to school” gift. The response was tremendous, and students across Canada were able to check out the Yaris while getting a safe ride to wherever they needed to go. Shuttle riders had a blast rocking out to Bedouin Soundclash in the Yaris, and hundreds of students each day walked away with free swag!

As if that wasn’t enough, Toyota was stationed on campus to show new and returning students alike a good time. Thousands of students entered Toyota’s Win A Yaris contest by texting in their entry on site or entering online (www.winayaris.ca). Tons more participated in the Stuff the Yaris contest on each campus, and one lucky winner at each campus received a brand new Sony Vaio laptop, an iPod touch, and a Heys E-Pack backpack to carry it all around in – not a bad way to start the semester! The Yaris crew met thousands of students in each city that they visited, and got to know campuses all over the country. If the Yaris crew discovered one thing about Canadian students, it’s that they love to have a good time – and they love the Toyota Yaris!
